LVP Flooring Installation Cost in Connecticut: What You'll Actually Pay in 2026

What makes the number go up

• Tear-out. Carpet is quick. Glued-down vinyl or tile takes a lot longer.
• Subfloor. LVP shows every dip. Older homes often need leveling before anything goes down.
• Stairs. Each step is cut and fit by hand, so stairs cost far more per square foot than open floor.
• Trim and transitions. Baseboard, quarter-round, and thresholds between rooms add up.
• Layout. A single open room goes faster than five small rooms with closets and doorways.

Cheap LVP vs. good LVP

The biggest differences are wear layer thickness and the core. A thicker wear layer handles dogs, kids and chairs better. A rigid core (SPC) handles uneven subfloors and temperature swings better than a thin, flexible plank. For rentals and busy kitchens, it's worth spending a bit more on the product.

A 400 square foot living and dining area, carpet removed, mid-range LVP, new quarter-round: using the ranges above, you'd reasonably budget somewhere in the low-to-mid thousands, with subfloor condition being the biggest unknown.
