Why your quote might be higher or lower
Two bedrooms with the same square footage can price very differently. Here's what moves it:
- What's getting painted. Walls only is one price. Walls, ceiling, trim, doors and window casings can nearly double it.
- Prep. Old homes around here have plaster cracks, nail pops and layers of old paint. Fixing that properly takes time, and it's the difference between a job that looks good for ten years and one that looks tired in two.
- Color change. Going from dark red to white needs primer and sometimes an extra coat.
